I have come to realize that Behind every son who believes in himself is a mom who believes in him first sunset shirt .the ignorance or hatred of others should not dictate my actions, behavior, ambitions and goals. I accept that I cannot change the negative feelings that others may have about me or my religion, and I do not think I have to perform in order to assuage the presumed anxieties of those around me. Because being me, is all I need to be.Whenever I see a woman in a h I go out of my way to be extra friendly and smiley so she’ll know I’m not some horrible Islamaphobe/xenophobe/anything-else-aphobe of I feel a bit less silly knowing women are doing the same on the other side of the would-be divide. Here’s hoping that one day common sense will prevail and we’ll be able to leave the ambassadors to representing their people.

I try to be extra nice to people of different races and religions because the atmosphere in America is so combative right now Behind every son who believes in himself is a mom who believes in him first sunset shirt . I feel compelled to do my part to try to fix things. I just want us all to be nice to each other. For my sake. For your sake and especially for our children.I feel a bit less silly knowing women are doing the same on the other side of the would-be divide. What I expressed here is a weight that I’ve felt most of my life. As a visibly Muslim woman, it’s hard not to feel like a walking political statement and a representative. The weight of it all can be cumbersome and often I experience hatred from others that is derived from fear.
